[Update] Entries for Miss Uganda 2011 closed on 27th July 2011. The new Miss Uganda will be crowned during a spectacular later this year.
During her year of reign, Miss UG will travel around Uganda as well as across the world as an ambassador for her country. She will participate in charity work, uplift her country and act as a role model for all Uganda citizens.
Miss Uganda will also represent her country in the prestigious Miss World pageants.

Beauty pageants are supposed to be some of the most glamorous and prestigious socio events. Pageants provide the perfect opportunity for some of the beautiful and intelligent young women to fulfill their ambitions and develop themselves as human beings. The Miss Uganda beauty pageant has introduced many fiercely intelligent and beautiful ambassadors to Uganda in this new era.
What We Are Looking For in a Miss Uganda Winner
Although times have changed since the inception of the Miss Uganda pageant, the same qualities are still required for the incumbent Miss Uganda to be able to shine as a role model and ambassador. The perception of this role and reality can sometimes be vastly different. The idea that a "Beauty Queen" is just for show and only judged on her exterior beauty is certainly not relevant in the search for our ambassador. We consider the "full package" which includes among other attributes, the inner strength and maturity to take on the role and be able to interact with people on all levels and social standing.
From the moment of completing the entry form, the "job interview" commences and this will eventually culminate in the winner taking on a position which will see them "working" for, Kezzi Entertainment, our sponsors, charities, and most importantly, for the Ugandan public. One of the most challenging aspects of being Miss Uganda is the hectic schedule and lifestyle which begins from the moment of crowning. We encourage a healthy way of life - with the correct eating and exercise plan - to be able to sustain energy levels and general wellbeing throughout her reign.
The most rewarding aspect of taking on this role is the joy of giving time and energy to those less fortunate and the heart warming and heart wrenching moments that are experienced. The value of the impact that you can make on the lives of so many people cannot be measured in monetary terms. Having empathy and compassion are key to making a difference. A key focus of the pageant is to empower women from the moment they are chosen as semi-finalists to the possibility of eventually being crowned the winner.

Miss Uganda Pageant Scouts
Miss Uganda pageant scouts have been appointed in various regions around the country to search for potential Miss Uganda applicants. The role of the scouts is to recruit and encourage suitable candidates and ensure that they meet the stipulated entry criteria. Hints, advice, interview skills and their experience and insight into the pageant are all ways in which the scouts can assist candidates to be the best they can be.
Any Miss Uganda pageant hopefuls discovered by the scouts are subject to the same judging process as all other entrants.
Automatic Miss UG Beauty Pageant Entries
Pageant winners and runners-up from national and regional pageants that meet the Miss Uganda criteria are automatically fast tracked to the quarter-finals (interview round).
Pre-selection/ Paper-judging
Through a process of pre-selection is paper-judging, potential Miss Uganda pageant contestants are invited for an interview. All applications are checked to ensure that pre-qualifying criteria have been met.
Presentation Night
Once pre-selection has been completed, the contestants are presented to the public, sponsors and the media at an invite only exclusive cocktail function.
Miss Uganda Pageant Camp Workshops
Once the Pre-selection has taken place, the chosen 20 finalists attend comprehensive workshops, both theoretical and practical. During this time, the Miss Uganda pageant workshops cover topics such as media relations, enterprising skills, personal branding, etiquette, make-up, hair, skincare, styling, health and nutrition and elocution lessons among others. This knowledge will equip these ambassadors with the skills required to take on the role of Miss Uganda.
Miss Uganda Finalist Profiles
During the camp the 20 finalists chosen, their profiles are filmed and publicity photographs are taken for television and media purposes.
